There was an original home and pool on this river front property, that was demolished and removed. This was a challenging project working within the zoning requirements, setbacks, etc. We acted as pool consultants to the Landscape Architect, in finalizing the design direction. Part of the challenge with this three sided vanishing edge pool, was integrating the home/structure with the pool. We took that challenge and made it into an opportunity by creating a water feature (with three bluestone scuppers) coming out of the vertical wall into the spa. We also decided to make the lower basin that refills the pool, into a mini pool to relax and take in the amazing sunsets.
The homeowners were seeking a backyard oasis with unobstructed views of the Manasquan River and Inlet. The visual goal was to create a pool that looked as if it were flowing into the river. This project took a lot of teamwork and collaborative effort, especially working on the waterfront and in such tight quarters. The reflecting quality of this pool works beautifully in capturing the sky and amazing sun rises and sunsets!!
Any time you have all the disciplines and professionals working in concert, only the greatest results are achieved, this was a classic example of like minded professionals (and clients), striving for the same goal and results. The result is a well and tasteful integration of home and its surrounding outdoor living space(s). The layout and functionality of this property will bring years of enjoyment and memories, which is what it is all about!!
